Berlin, 20 October 2025 – Forto, a leading provider of digital freight forwarding solutions, has today launched FortoLabs, a new platform offering agentic AI technologies for the supply chain as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). These solutions are now available to the broader market to drive lasting gains in productivity, precision, and resilience across global supply chains.

FortoLabs builds on the AI capabilities developed and tested within Forto’s own operations, where they have delivered measurable productivity gains. Forto is now offering these technologies as standalone products to the broader logistics ecosystem.

The first product, “LumoDoc”, is an AI-powered agentic document processing solution that delivers up to 90% efficiency gains, depending on the use case. This generative AI solution categorizes inbound logistics documents received via email or API, extracts the relevant data, and transfers it in a structured format into downstream IT systems. It already supports all of the most common logistics document types, including bills of lading, packing lists, customs documents, invoices, and many other document types.

From internal innovation to external product

Built by Forto for the broader logistics market LumoDoc is now available as FortoLabs’ first SaaS solution for companies across the supply chain, including transport management software providers, customs agencies and brokers, freight forwarders, carriers and shippers of all sizes.

FortoLabs will continue rolling out new SaaS offerings. In addition to intelligent document processing, further solutions are already in development. They are all trained on logistics-specific data sets to ensure high-performance from day-one, without requiring complex setup or customization.

Value for logistics and industry

FortoLabs solutions help logistics organisations operate faster, more accurately, and with fewer manual interventions. Teams benefit from reduced operational workload, improved service quality, and more resilient supply chains.

“FortoLabs is our innovation engine for the logistics industry,” says Guillaume Petit-Perrin, CEO of Forto. “We have developed agentic AI solutions that deliver tremendous efficiency gains in our own operations. Our vision is to make shipping goods as easy as sending an email. With FortoLabs, we are making these technologies available to other companies in the logistics ecosystem, to help them solve real industry problems: speed, efficiency, and overall data quality.”
