• Logistics industry executive brings 30+ years of international logistics expertise with companies such as DB Schenker, JCL, Agility, and Panalpina

Forto, a leading provider of digitized freight forwarding and supply chain solutions, today announced the appointment of Thomas Eisenblätter as Vice President of Global Sea Freight Management, FCL.  In his new role, Eisenblätter will oversee the procurement and business development of the Forto offerings for international Sea Freight. 

Eisenblätter brings more than 30  years of operational, business development  and partner management experience  to  Forto.  He joins the company after most recently serving as Executive Vice President Ocean for DB Schenker, where he was responsible for the Ocean Freight business unit with a strong focus on development and growth. In this role, he also served as a member of the Management Board for Europe and drove the strategy and operations for a team of more than  2,000 people,  serving thousands of customers  around the world.

Prior to his time at DB Schenker, Eisenblätter was Managing Partner and Co-Founder of JCL Air and Ocean Germany.  Eisenblätter has similarly held executive level management positions with Fr. Meyer’s Sohn (COO Ocean and Air), Agility Logistics Santa Ana (Senior Vice President Global Ocean Freight), and Panalpina Ocean Freight Management (Managing Director Global Sea Freight).

Eisenblätter steps into a role formerly held by Johannes Saade, now appointed to a new role as Vice President of Sea Freight Products. Saade’s new appointment reinforces  Forto’s strategy and an organizational structure that unifies logistics solutions and technology development under a single product management function. In this new role. Saade will drive the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and the success of the Sea Freight offering across Forto’s markets.
